Colour Splash is a great photo manipulation editing app for your iphone. It allows you to create a sophisticated dramatic effect very quickly. We have all seen those black and white photographs used on advertising posters where one thing is in a bright colour. The classic is a London red bus against a black and white London scene or a bright yellow New York cad in a black and white times square.

You choose a photo from your iPhone camera roll and the software easily turns your colour photo in to a black and white photograph. You then use your finger as a brush. Where ever you touch it brings the original colour back. You can use the two finger pinch control to zoom into a section of the photograph to get better control and finer detail. I use this most of the time as my fingers are on the large size. You can undo any accidental brush strokes. The app allows you to save multiple sessions. You can also share the photos on Facebook, Flickr or Twitter. You can work in landscape and portrait mode. The effect is called a ‘cutout’ or ‘selective desaturation’. It is so easy I found myself putting photos on my iPhone just to use the Colour Splash photo editing app.
